I spent my teen years over-idealizing my youth. I read coming of age novels, watched highschool tv dramas and teen movies, and listened to teen-angst rock (aka emo before it became what it is known as today). My own coming of age story however, turned out rather boring, and I think that’s something I never really got over. Maybe that’s why I like Ryan McGinely’s photography (see above), or M83′s teen-centric music videos:
