Pool Party
My legendary grade 8 pool party
When I was a little kid, I swam for the Region of Waterloo Swim Club. When I was bored during practice, I would pretend that there were sharks at the bottom of pool and that if I swam to the opposite pool wall fast enough, I would be safe. Sometimes however, I would scare myself so much that I had to get out of the water for a “washroom break”. Needless to say, I never made it quite far in my swimming career.
Despite my fears of what lurks beneath, I would love to take a dip in the pool designed by Ogilvy and Mather in Mumbai, India to promote HSBC’s campaign for globe warming solutions.
Constructed by gluing an aerial photograph of the New York City skyline to the floor of the pool, the image illustrates the threat of rising sea levels as a result of global warming. HSBC is the first bank to go carbon netural (zero carbon footprint).

I swam for my dad’s company for three years. My tween self would’ve squeed at the sight of that pool.
p.s. my lurking creature of choice was a a giant octopus.
wow great photos
I’d snorkle there.. I LOVE snorkling!
*and for a good cause
